ESCAPE-pain hosted it’s annual conference virtually on December 8th 2022. Over 200 professionals across MSK and Leisure, including commissioners and community partnerships, registered to attend the event. The aim of the conference was to bring together leisure, community and clinical commissioners and providers interested in forming collaborative partnerships to deliver ESCAPE-pain in their communities. We felt that this was especially timely, as the pandemic recedes, its full impact is becoming apparent: the number of people with knee, hip and back pain, already huge, has increased enormously, while the NHS’s capacity to support them, already limited, has contracted further. The conference included presentations from UKActive, the NHS MSK National Clinical Director,  GoodBoost / UK Research and Innovation project, and Professor Michael Hurley on results of a Sport England-funded project delivering ESCAPE-pain in leisure and community centers.
